Group chats

Lupyd group chats bring people together through secure, real-time communication — for casual conversations, team collaboration, or business discussions.

Every group is end-to-end encrypted using the Messaging Layer Security (MLS) protocol. Messages are encrypted on your device and can only be decrypted by current group members; Lupyd’s servers relay ciphertext and never see message contents.

Membership changes rotate keys

When someone joins or leaves a group, the group’s encryption keys are updated. Removed members cannot read messages sent after they left. New members only see earlier messages if the group has history sharing enabled, in which case existing members share an encrypted copy of the history with them.
